Autumn Leaves felted bag

Country Living (p.23) has this fantastic felted bag, decorated with real autumn leaves.   I just loved it and the whole autumn theme of the pages around it.   I had to have one, and I tried to find out who had made this, but the only link is to a site where the bags are nothing like.
So, I made my own, with felted leaves.   I had so much advice from kind people about how to finish the leaves off - stitching/no stitching - and stitching something came out tops.   I still wanted them to look straight off the forest floor, so I didn't add any beads or other embellishments.   I contrived some 'twistiness' when I stitched the leaves together, sewed them to a kilt pin and fixed the whole corsage to my wet-felted huge creamy-coloured bag - just in time for my trip away next week.

Big Thank You to everyone who kindly left me comments to guide me forward with the leaf shapes - you were right!

they are just gorgous - the colors are really right - did you use dyed tops or colored them yourself - enjoy your trip wherever it is

GORGEOUS! BEAUTIFUL! FABULOUS! I love it! The leaves are gorgeous and I like how they look. THis you can use separately as a pin. right? Great idea. And the bag... yours is prettier ;)
Great job!

Anonymous - thanks! No I haven't yet ventured into dyeing. I hand-carded some already-dyed tops to make some different shades and used others as they were, but laid them out randomly before felting.
Marian - you're very kind! I did try pinning the corsage on ME - maybe a bit too big, but perhaps OK on a chunky sweater.

Gina - thanks so much for your advice with the leaves - I think minimal stitching was the right way to treat them, for me.

Where (at some post?) can we find the comments others left that helped you make this adorable, beautiful, fantastic, just perfect autumn bag? I'd like to make my own version as well (of course totally different from yours).... :-)

Hi Maria - thanks! the link to the previous post is at the top right 'Autumn leaves-felted of course', about 4 posts ago. I had made the leaves and was asking for opinions about whether to stitch or not. Hope you make your own bag - will we see the finished item?!
