Autumn Leaves - felted, of course

Some representations of the colours of autumn, wet-felted and made into leaf shapes.   The plan is to make a corsage, fixed to a kilt-pin, and attach it to a felted bag for me me me.   But - I need some guidance from you you you!   Should I machine stitch some 'veins' on the leaf shapes to make them a bit more realistic, or leave them as they are, just to 'suggest' leaves?    I really would like some advice - please and thank you!

I think I would be tempted to add some machine stitching. Although they are lovely as they are.

Hi Chrissie if they were my beautiful leaves I would hand stitch veins and put the odd bit of net with textures trapped underneath to give a textural surface to the felt!
What a lovely collection!

I would add a single central line of stitching, to indicate the main vein and emphasise the way the leaf twists; but they are so nice on their own, too!

I think a little stitching would be nice just to add some detail - but I would say that not much is needed. Whatever you do, I know it will look beautiful. Autumn and spring are my favourite seasons and the leaves when they are changing colour and showing off nearby berries in the woods and hedgerows are the best bit. Good luck!

The leaves are very good shapes in their own right but I would add stitching. I would machine stitch with copper metallic thread

Look forward to the next instalment ........

I agree - a bit of stitching would be lovely - hand or machine. But they are lovely colours - I do like them!

Thank you all so much for your constructive comments - looks like some stitching is required then! If you have this month's Country Living to hand, page 23 was my inspiration ...

I like Gina's idea actually - although they do look great indeed - but some stitching for the nerves would be fantastic! :)

aaaah Im too late for this! Im sorry. I really like your work... I would decide whether to stitch or not having in mind how the bag will look... if the bag has a lot going on already, stitching might make it too much... otherwise... the leaves (stitched) would add texture and interest...
